Can you guys believe September is half over?! Summer is gone y’all. So instead of walking away from this blessed time of year with our heads hanging low, we thought we’d give it a proper farewell! Time for a party!!
We decided on a “Farewell Summer Party” with a fun, Mexican twist. Allright, Allright….so I selfishly wanted a party where I wasn’t actually WORKING during the event…so what better than a do-it-yourself-everything party! You want a taco? Get your own darn taco at the taco station! Oh, you say you want another margarita?! That’s nice. Make me one while you’re at it will ya?!
So here is how the party unfolded…
FIRST UP: The Outdoor Space
This hurricane set typically holds 7 candles…I decided to mix it up with floral!
I have been having the hardest time finding pots for the patio (I know, I know…what a horrible problem to have!) But I saw these bad boys and completely fell in love! Perfect!!
Oh, and I received so much help from my three boys during the party set-up (2 human + 1 canine pictured above). In my next life I am totally going to be a male.
Okay, so now that the outdoor space is taken care of I can move inside…
The Inside Space:
Penny wants to help me get the space set-up. Sheesh! Leave it to the women 🙂
I tend to color block when I arrange floral.
Oh my gosh. I am OBSESSED with this modern trough!! I couldn’t decide if I should plant succulents in it or fill it with candles…but ultimately I decided to continue with my theme of mixing floral and filled it with fresh limes and filled in gaps with the heads of mums.
I framed the menu for the event and posted in on the table. In my Bing search, I came across this post from a fantastic taco-themed party so I just used the printable featured. Easy-peesy. #thanksBing!
So it’s party time! I am relaxed + having fun because…well…it’s a self-service party so I’m kinda off the hook 🙂
But the best part about the party? Seeing my husband laughing + having the best time. It’s funny how when you love someone, your own smile is connected to theirs…
So farewell summer 2014! Cheers…:)
